If you/re curious about how quickly Union Square’s retail rentals are recovering, go read this report.

D’agostino’s is long gone, and Agata and Valentina had to vacate so that the undistinguished building can be demolished and replaced by retail and apartments. Should be an interesting build. How high? Unknown at this time.

90 Seconds to Napoli

Now open on University after a very long delay: Simo, authentic pizza from the south of Italy.

What Is Shard?

13th St.’s historical Erskine Press building will be the home to some kind of new restaurant called Chard pretty soon. No details, but it seems Asian.

University Place already has two high-end ice cream shops, now we get a third. Gentile Gelataria actually has a very long history going way back to the old country.

Looks like Blick Art Supplies will be leaving 13th St. in the spring and moving to 4th and 11th, where another art supply store once existed.

A New Bodega…Really

Sort of a surprise that the neighborhood is getting a new bodega at the corner of 13th and University, replacing Basics Hardware.

This year’s annual shareholder meeting will take place virtually on October 12. Watch your mail and e-mail for log-in details.
